Staying Organized When You're Young

You're trying your best to find your purpose in life, you're exposed to real world problems, some are juggling school and work, and others are traveling. No matter where you are in life, it's important to be organized.
There's a dry erase board hung by my door that I bought from Wallmat-it came with two markers and an eraser. I write down my weekly schedule, plans/goals I have for the month, & a list of things to get done. I list what I'm doing Monday-Sunday; MWF-class, T/TR -study @ starbucks, Saturday-hike, Sunday- Family. Also fill in things that make you happy; Monday-Yoga, T/TR- Rose face mask, Sunday- Brunch with friends. Take it a step further by writing in the days you fill up your gas tank, buy groceries, or deposit money at the bank.
For those like myself it's easy to procrastinate, that's why a visual list of things-to-do is so important. People need to break their habit of relying on memory to remember everything- 'cause how's that been working out for ya? Traveling is what I look forward to more than anything, it could be going anywhere- if it's an hour away, a surrounding state, or across the country. Whatever you're into, write it big enough to see it everyday! Right now, I have Kentucky 10/6/18-10/9/18 and Europe 07/-/19-TBA in the center of my board & it gives me something to look forward to!
This is my third month using this method & I've started to encourage people around me to try it too. Try this if you like to keep track of how you use/spend you time, money, and resources.

module 7 reflection

Throughout module 7, we learned about sleep and distracted driving which are both very important topics.  Sleep is important for mental and physical reasons. You need to let your mind and body rest, in order to be efficient during the day. Without a good nights rest, you'll be fatigued, irritable, and possibly even forgetful. The amount of sleep you get each night matters because each stages serves its own purpose. During a one of the stages called REM (rapid eye movement), you're temporarily paralyzed so your organs can rest. Your mental isn't the only thing that can be exhausted, your body can become exhausted as well. For more information about sleep, why its important, and ways to improve how you sleep, click here . I agreed strongly with our textbook's definition of distracted driving, "anything that diverts a person's attention away from the primary task of driving.". Since it's  literally  impossible for our brain to focus o...

module 5 reflection

The material that I related the most to through these chapters was how exercise helps with depression. Living in WYN the seasons change but when September comes, I know the winter depression isn’t far behind. I was affected by it my whole life until two years ago I talked to my doctor and she recommended either getting on an antidepressant or try lightly working out throughout the week. I haven’t been a huge fan of medicine growing up so I tried working out. I felt god instantly; I walked out feeling new and I couldn’t wait to go back the next day. Endorphins are released when you workout, these reduce your perception of pain and give you an euphoric feeling. For more about endorphins, visit here . Working out is addictive because when you miss a day you feel crappy. I found Alexandria Benson’s discussion post the most interesting, I enjoyed reading her ‘Extra thoughts’ section at the bottom. I learned that people today are 10% heavier than they were in the 80’s , even when following t...

Module 2 reflection//

I'm walking away from this module having learned new material and having applied it to my life, it made it this module personal. I learned that different ethnicities are more prone than others to disease and health conditions, I learned as well that cancer is the second leading cause of death in the US. Although they're cool facts, how to cope with stress was my favorite topics to read/research/learn about. On page 52 ,it states American's expierence higher stress annually while all aware that stress is affecting their health. If more people dealth with stress, they'd live a happier healthier life.  The two different personality types was the material I enjoyed learning the most, by going  here  it helped me learn more in depth about the two different personalities. I was able to put myself into one of the catergories, which I was really interesting to me. The two personalities react to stress differenly, which is a direct result of the type of personality traits th...
